Iglu Students Sydney and Brisbane

Get ready. It's O-Week time!

With the 2014 academic calendar about to kick-off, that means it’s time to explore your campus and it's time for Orientation Week – the best week of the year for all 1st year students.

University O-Weeks are a great way to learn about all things related to the new life you are about to embark on as a student and student accommodation in Sydney in just one of them

Starting university brings you into contact with people from here, there and everywhere – and with so many new faces it can be a daunting experience for some. But that’s where O-Week lends a helping hand.

O-Week is designed to help students ease into the new and exciting ways of uni life, and also helps you to get familiar with what your uni has to offer and meet some of the people you will be crossing paths with for the next few years.

Most universities and colleges offer heaps of cool student groups, sports clubs, and many more on-campus services. Knowing where and what all these services are will help you to make the most of being a student in Sydney. O-Week is the place to go to find out about all of these social clubs, and where you can enjoy some of the most fun-filled days of freebies and great times.

At Iglu Student Accommodation we love O-Week too – it’s a great opportunity for us to meet you! Many of you might still be thinking about where you want to live on a long term basis, and we all know that Sydney offers heaps of options – but it is always a good idea to consider your new home carefully and find somewhere to live that makes you happy, especially if you are leaving home for the first time or heading to an unfamiliar country or city.

The Iglu Team has already been out and about at the O-Weeks for UTS Kuring-gai and Sydney Institute of Business & Technology (SIBT), where we met lots of cool students. Next, the Iglu team is off to the Sydney University O-Week from 26-28 February, and then you can find us out at the Macquarie University O-Week from 3-6 March. So why don’t you come by and say hello to us – we’d love you to meet you.

So what’s our best advice for O-Week?

Make sure you:

  • Explore your new campus (leave no stone un-turned)
  • Join some clubs (meet like-minded people)
  • Chat to current students (a wise man once said…)
  • Have lots of fun (it can’t be all work and no play)
  • Come say hi to the Iglu Team.
